He was sent to Kiev, Ukraine for the Barbarosa Mission in 1942. He had a very unforgettable and wonderful memory about Kiev. In 2005 when He attended the 60 years anniversary of World War II he visited Kiev for the second time and for the first time until 63 years. He rented the apartments in Kiev with several veteran groups. He met the Kamerad of the Soviet Batalyon who was his enemy back then. But now they were good friends.

Meanwhile the great great grandpa youngest brother from my mother’s side also studied in holland as a student, but he joined the group of resistance for the freedom of The Netherland, then he joined the allied troops in mid 1945 after the liberation of The Netherland.
